Governance

Beacon is a visual art organisation based in Lincolnshire which was set up in 2004 by John Plowman and Nicola Streeten. In 2006 Beacon Artproject Limited became a not for profit company limited by guarantee. Registered in England and Wales. Registration No 5809581. In June 2009 Beacon achieved charitable status. Registered charity No 1130703.

MISSION

AIM    

To establish new art and new artists in the rural.

 

OBJECTIVES

BEACON will :

Programme a regular series of innovative visual art projects:

  By engaging with the idea of high production values.

  A commitment to working with artists at all stages of their career.

  Supporting and championing artists internationally, nationally and regionally .

  Evaluating and developing critical thinking around the project / artwork e.g. discussion and debates.

  Disseminating the outcomes widely to gain national and international acknowledgement.

Establish and consolidate an audience, locally, regionally and nationally by:

  Taking the audience to the art.

•  Providing clear information about each project / informing the audience in appropriate ways.

  Developing the awareness and expectations of the audience.

  Building good strong relationships with audiences and local communities.

  Establishing a strong educational strand to each project.

Raise the resources to support the programme of work by:

•  Implementing a long term funding strategy.

  Forge strong relationships with funding partners.

  Developing a good organisational structure to manage and deliver the (each) project(s).
